How to Fix a Delta Kitchen Faucet

If your Delta faucet is one with a handle and a water spout, and if you have got to repair it, you can do it easily with a common repair tool kit available at your local hardware store. This would hardly cost much and the whole delta kitchen faucet repairing process is not more than 15 minutes job.

Just make sure that you have shut off the water valve below the sink, before you set out to disassemble it to repair the delta kitchen faucet. In case you are having problem locating the shutoff valve, you better shut off the main water supply valve to the house, but make sure that there is no one in lavatory who might need water as soon as you close the valve. Now just empty the faucet by lifting its water handle open in case there is any water left in the faucet. And make it sure again that you have shut off the water valve perfectly.

 As a second step to repair a delta kitchen faucet you need to remove the faucet handle first. You can do it using an Allen wrench, easily. Just fix it and rotate it anticlockwise to loosen its grip.

The third step requires you to unscrew the white cap or the chrome dome of the faucet. Sometimes it gets too tight to be loosened by hands, use pipe wrench to remove it, if so.

Now, the things are all open before you. As a forth step just check the rotary ball if there is any crack or scratches on it. If you notice any crack or scratch on the ball, replace it.

The fifth step to repair a delta kitchen faucet is to remove the rubber seats and springs that you see inside it. You may need to use the tip of Allen wrench to remove them easily, without breaking.

Sixth step, now you need to use the repair kit that you had purchased to repair the delta kitchen faucet. Take out the pieces, fix the springs to the rubber seats and replace them into the faucet holes. Now reverse process of replacing the rotary ball, chrome dome and faucet handle back the way you had removed them.

As a last and final step to repair your delta kitchen faucet is to check if it is working fine or not. Put the water supply valve on from wherever you had closed it and make the faucet run. Make sure that it is not leaking now and working perfect.

Precautions: It is advisable that you arrange the pieces of delta kitchen faucet in exact order as you remove them, so that you can replace them in reverse order exactly during reassembling it. This will save a lot of time and efforts while repairing delta kitchen faucet.
